Maggie Zahm

Maggie Zahm from Chicago, Illinois, USA will be climbing the 7 day TK Rongai Route from 18th – 24th February 2014 for Ikirwa School. The proceeds from Maggie’s campaign will be used for a good cause to support education and develop better life for children in Tanzania .

The Ikirwa School is a US-based volunteer organization located in the village of Midawe, Arumeru District in Tanzania, Africa. Their goal is to provide world-class English language education to local children while inspiring them to learn, explore and contribute to the world around them. Through all of their amazing work, the school’s enrollment is growing rapidly and they are about to outgrow their existing 4 classrooms at the end of 2014. They need your help to support current and future students who hope to further their own education and plant the seeds of learning, development, and creativity in others.

I will be traveling to Tanzania in February 2014 to take on the challenge of an 8-day trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Ikirwa School. I’m excited to combine my passion for adventure and my commitment to global education, and I’d love you to join us, either for the climb itself or by contributing financially to significantly improve these children’s future academic and employment opportunities.

A little bit goes a long way in supporting these children; only $25 per month will cover one child’s tuition, textbooks, school supplies, uniforms and breakfast. My target of $4,500 can provide education, food, and supplies for 15 full-time students for an entire year. Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Join me in helping to change the futures of the children at the Ikirwa School. I truly appreciate any support from relatives, friends, and strangers to help me achieve this goal. Thank you!

This campaign closed, having raised USD 1,240 for charity.
